Free MLB Picks Friday September 22, 2023

Yesterday’s MLB pick on the Yankees was a winner. On Wednesday, we posted a 3-1 record. The Tuesday pick was a winner as well. I was not available on Monday because I was coming back from my trip to Toronto and Buffalo.

So, in total, the free baseball betting tips this week have generated a 5-1 record. Are you enjoying the ride, my friend?

Let’s end the week on a good note, and I’ve got 2 official MLB picks for you on Friday September 22nd. I’m Professor MJ, holder of a PhD in statistics.

SYSTEM PICK #1: Tampa Bay Rays moneyline (@ -146 odds, vs Toronto Blue Jays)

Let’s get the party started with pick number one. It is supported by “The Snapped Winning Streak” betting system that has yielded a 19-11 record during the 2023 campaign. The average odds of those 30 bets have been -106, and we have racked up a +22.6% return on investment.

The rules are as follows: bet AGAINST the road team if they lost their past game after winning at least five in a row. In other words, we are fading the visiting team if they had a long winning streak that was halted the day before. The reasoning is that their confidence might be shaken after this loss, and historical data proves this strategy is working well.

For this reason, pick number one for Friday September 22nd goes to the Tampa Bay Rays! They will be hosting the Blue Jays, who are indeed on the road and who are coming off a 5-3 defeat after riding a five-game winning streak.

The Rays will be looking to ride the momentum from a thrilling 5-4 victory over the Angels yesterday. Vladimir Guerrero is still listed as questionable due to a knee injury. He missed Wednesday’s game, and didn’t start on Thursday but only came off the bench as a pinch hitter in the 9th inning.

Over the whole season, Tyler Glasnow has posted better numbers than his counterpart, Chris Bassitt. However, I have to admit that Glasnow has been far less impressive recently. In fact, he holds a 5.48 ERA over his past four starts. Also, his career ERA against Toronto sits at a pretty high 6.88 figure. That’s a source of concern to me.

Still, given the performance of “The Snapped Winning Streak” betting angle, I’ve got to back Tampa Bay.

SYSTEM PICK #2: New York Yankees moneyline (@ -117 odds, vs Arizona Diamondbacks)

My next baseball wager is backed by “The Hot Teams #2” betting system. Would you like to learn how it works? I’m here to serve you, so let me reveal all the secrets right now!

According to my seven-year dataset, it is a smart idea to bet the home team if they are coming off either 1 or 2 wins whenever they are facing a visiting club that has won at least four games in a row.

Based on those criteria, my second MLB pick for September 22nd is the New York Yankees against Arizona. Indeed, the Bronx Bombers have won a single game in a row, while the visiting DBacks are coming off five consecutive victories.

Not only did this betting angle perform well in my seven-year dataset, which was developed a few years ago, but it also generated some profit in 2020, 2021 and 2022. However, its performance has left something to be desired this year, as evidenced by his 5-10 record. Still, a sample of only 15 games is not enough to crush my confidence regarding this system so I’m still backing it.

A couple of bad starters are set to take the mound in this matchup. Both Brandon Pfaadt and Luke Weaver hold an ERA hovering around 6, which is abysmal.

Even though the Yankees are pretty much eliminated, they still have some motivation. They want to avoid their first losing season since 1992. Right now they are just one game above .500.

Moreover, Weaver played more than three years in Arizona, so he should be excited to face his former team. In my opinion, the Yankees will play spoiler and win this game.
