We came close from winning our underdog bet on the Reds last night, but they squandered a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 8th inning in Arizona.

It was still worth taking a shot, in my humble opinion.

Let’s rebound quickly with a win today, shall we?

SYSTEM PICK #1: Under 7.5 Yankees-Rays (@ -120 odds)

First of all, sharp action seems to be backing the under in this American League East division matchup. Indeed, only 44% of the bets on the total have gone on the under, while 90% of the total money has been invested in it. That indicates large bets are clearly going on the under.

We have a couple of solid starting pitchers battling each other. Gerrit Cole is coming off his shortest outing of the season, but that may be a good thing since he will be well-rested. And there is no doubt he will be very focused after allowing six runs to the Red Sox six days ago.

In 18 career starts against Tampa, he owns a disappointing 3-7 record, but opposing batters have presented an average batting average of only .217. It looks like Cole has not had much run support on those games.

Meanwhile, Zach Eflin takes the mound for the Rays. He has faced the Bronx Bombers on four occasions during his career, and his ERA in those outings has been a tiny 1.57.

This bet looks scary given how great Tampa’s offense has looked recently. During their past seven matches, the Rays have scored a jaw-dropping 8.9 runs per game, on average. That’s incredible. But, as a contrarian, this is the type of moves that I do. Gerrit Cole is certainly a good candidate to quiet the Rays bats today.

We won another WNBA bet last night as we took over 170.5 points in the Aces versus Sky meeting. We now have a 22-4 record over the past 26 WNBA bets.
